The VIDEO Surveillance solution is based on 250 SCALA, the scalable SCADA system. The powerful SCADA functionality of 250 SCALA - especially alarming and alarm displaying - are an optimal basis for video surveillance installations.
The displaying of video screens at the SCADA Client and the control of the PTZ-cameras (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) is realized by an own developed software-module. Each software-module displays one independent video stream for the SCADA client. The module is part of the 250 SCALA editor and offers the following interactive functions in runtime mode:
- Operation with mouse-cursor
- Operation with mouse-cursor
- Camera selection
- Pan, Tilt, Zoom
- Control of wind screen wiper
- Saving of a single picture (Snapshot)
- Start of video recording
Network video server are responsible for the correct transmission of the video signal. The server are fitted with camera signal inputs and TCP/IP network interfaces.
The control of the pan-, tilt- and zoom function of the camera operates via a serial interface. Video server convert the analogue PAL-signals (FBAS - 75Ohm) of the cameras to a digital one and transmit it as TCP/IP packages to the connected network - independently from the transport technology of the IP-Network. The following solutions are available:
- for interfacing of one camera
VIP X1
- 2 cameras
VIP X2
- up to 8 cameras
VideoJet 8008
Based on the requirements we use commercial analogue or IP-Industrial cameras, with fix- or vario lens, PTZ-type, as indoor- or outdoor type. The control of the pan, tilt and zoom function of PTZ-cameras is realized by using one of the following standard protocols:
- Pelco P
- Sony EVI
- Panasonic
The analogue video signal transmission between camera and Videojet is limited to the max. length of the video cable (approx. 100m). All PTZ-control signals can be interfaced via RS422/485 2 or 4 wire cable.
Larger distances require a bidirectional multimode fiber media converter (62,5µm). Videojets operate with the very efficient MPEG-4 video-compression standard.
