Packaging Lines Print Version
The slit coils coming from the slitter must be wropped up for shipment.
This is done by machines with  the coil running into the line vertically.

Packaging Line First, the coils will be peripherally banded with packing strap at 2, 3 or 4 places (180°, 120°, 90°) and subsequently packed with crepe paper or jute or both in the winding station.
The packed coils can then be packed stacks with or without pallets. Stacked coil packs will be strapped for shipment and wrapped with paper, if required.
For overseas shipment, the whole package with pallet will normally be wrapped with foil, the foils will be welded so that the inside will remain dry. Silica gel will also be added for moisture control inside the packs.

The coils are stropped by the automatic banding head with blue packing strap, normally 16 x 5. The strapping band is guided through the coil eye.
For wrapping operation the coil is on tapered rollers which turn it round its own axis. Prior to this, the coil must be put into correct position by means of centering rolls. The subsequent wrapping will be done with approx. 80 mm wide paper or jute.
Prior to strapping and wrapping, the individual coils will be weighed on the weighing roller bed (net weight).
The gross weight of the individual coils or the coil packs (ready for dispatch) will be weighed once more. The coils or coil packs are usually be tilted back into the position with horizontal axis and removed by means of a crane or fork.
