The DIA TECH System is an intelligent Monitoring and Diagnosis System for early fault detection of thermal, mechanical and dielectrical problems at generating units in power plants.

DIA TECH Systems offers two kinds of notification:

• Pre-warning
• Warning

DIA TECH is NOT a relay protection but a system for early fault detection. Consequently no trip for the machine shut-down wil be provided.

DIA TECH is equipped with a Data Management System in order to handle in-coming and out-going data, to store and to display them. The DIA TECH system architecture is designed for tailor made modular application. DIA TECH is also a System Integrator for 3rd party modules.

Nowadays power stations have to maximise production and minimise costs significantly. Even under normal operating conditions all Components of the generating units (generator stator and rotor, turbine,...) are subject to ageing and damages.

Advanced Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis Systems have to look at leading indicators of condition changes, analyse the trend and have to provide warnings if alarm levels are exceeded. They should support in diagnosing the cause of deviations (abnormal ageing and failures) before serious damages occur. The analytic and diagnostic results should assist the responsible persons (plant operators, technical specialists, plant owners etc.) in making decisions.

Various Diagnosis Modules ("Knowledge Modules") are identifying mechanical, dielectrical and thermal problems.
