Reducing the environmental impact of the pulp manufacturing process is one of the biggest challenges facing the worldwide pulp and paper industry. The Andritz fiberline is based on the most progressive technology, and the welfare of the environment is one of its major benefits.
In Scandinavia, where the pulp and paper industry occupies a central position in the economy, results of Andritz technology and environmental know-how have led to dramatic reductions in emission and effluents from pulp and paper mills.
For example, bleaching with elemental chlorine has been replaced with much more environmentally friendly processes. Effluent from bleach plants using ClO2 has been considerably reduced and new processes help pulp producers keep well below regulatory limits on effluents. This achievement has been reached thanks to the progressive fiberline processes supplied by Andritz.

Solutions that use raw materials efficiently and are environmentally sound are an important step forward. Our newest fiberline technology minimizes water consumption, generating only 5 to 10 m3 of waste water per ton of pulp. Until a few years ago, the corresponding value was 30 to 40 m3.
Each year, Andritz makes significant investments in research and development to maintain its position as a provider of environmentally friendly, cost-effective systems. Our products ensure that you have the essential technological lead, now and in the future.
