Andritz has acquired 100% of the shares of CyberMetrics Inc., a company specializing in online sensors for fiber quality measurement. All operations of CyberMetrics Inc. have been merged with IDEAS Simulation & Control Inc. located in Decatur, GA (USA). All current and new developments from this product group will be marketed under the new “IDEAS Sensors” family of products. The acquisition adds to Andritz's capabilities in online measurement and control, and further enhances the company's ability to serve the worldwide pulp and paper industry.

IDEAS Sensors operations based in Alpharetta, Georgia (USA) focus on research and development for fiber quality measurement.

CyberMetrics products, such as the FiberVision™ for pulping and refiner control, can be used in conjunction with Andritz advanced process control systems and other DCS systems to improve production efficiency and pulp quality through on-line monitoring of all important production and fiber parameters.  

CyberMetrics has several successful installations in North America. Combining the expertise of Andritz's process and equipment specialists with CyberMetrics experts will result in further improved products and services for the pulp and paper industry in the future.
