BIRD® TOLHURST® Bottom-Drive Centrifuge
The BIRD TOLHURST Bottom-Drive Centrifuge is a vertical basket, bottom discharge centrifuge for pharmaceutical and fine chemical applications. It offers built-in design features that improve productivity and assure maintenance-friendly upkeep.
The BIRD TOLHURST Bottom-Drive Centrifuge can be equipped for fully automatic operation with DCS interface and PLC controls, and can be customized to individual processes.
Advantages:
- Feed cone design increases productivity by assuring even distribution of feed slurry
- "Back blow" heel-removal system removes residual product and eliminates operator exposure
- Full opening top for complete visual inspection of inside surfaces
- Optional CIP spray wash system to meet cGMP requirements
- Variable frequency drive to match basket speed with product filtration characteristic
- Center-slung suspension is designed to handle unbalanced or liquid loads
- Available in fume-tight and high-pressure designs
- Rapid change-out cartridge bearings take less time to service, increasing up-time
- Available in standard 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy® C-276 construction, or Titanium
- Available as a steam sterilizable centrifuge (optional)
