Compact Belt Drive Turbine Print Version

ANDRITZ  HYDRO, a world leader in bulb turbine design and production has developed the Compact Belt Drive Bulb Turbine. This concept has been designed for low head applications where this low budget solution offers a cost-effective way of exploiting especially small water power.

Application range:
Head H up to 4 m
Flow Q up to 25 m3/s
Output P up to 600 kW
3 Sizes
D1 from 1,450 to 1,950 mm

Based on the well-proven Bevel Gear Bulb Turbine, the Belt Drive Bulb Turbine complements the Compact Hydro Program in the low head segment.

Modern and compact, these machines offer many advantages and attravtive design features. Thanks to double regulation, with controllable runner blades and wicket gates. Compact Belt Drive Bulb Turbines make the most of availiable energy through optimal efficiency and outstanding part-load characteristics. All guarantees are backed up by model tests in the ANDRITZ  HYDRO laboratories.

Turbine, belt drive and generator form a a compact unit which is delivered fully assembled and shop-tested. Installation into completed powerhouse is achived in only one embedding phase thus drastically reducing erection time and costs.

The design concept of these compact turbines likewise reduce construction costs. Minimal powerhouse dimensions with simple intake and outflow contours substantially reduce overall expenditures.
