Wolfgang Leitner (CEO) Wolfgang Leitner (CEO)


Wolfgang Leitner has served as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Andritz since 1994. From 1997 to 1999 he was also member of the Executive Board of AGIV, the former majority shareholder of Andritz. In 1987, Wolfgang Leitner joined the Executive Board of Andritz as Chief Financial Officer. In 1986, he was a founding member of a pharmaceutical company of which he is still President, having seen successful flotation of its eastern European subsidiaries on the Budapest Stock Exchange and their subsequent acquisition by a US company. Prior to this, Wolfgang Leitner worked as management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Munich from 1981 to 1985 and as a researcher from 1978 to 1981 for Vianova, an Austrian subsidary of Hoechst AG. He holds a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Graz, Austria.


Franz Hofmann Franz Hofmann

Franz Hofmann has been responsible for Rolling Mills and Strip Processing Lines and for Environment and Process Technologies since joining Andritz in 1999. Prior to this, Franz Hofmann held the position of divisional director responsible for continuous strip casting at SMS Schloemann-Siemag AG in Düsseldorf from 1991 to 1999. From 1987 to 1991, he worked as management consultant with A.T.Kearney in Düsseldorf. From 1978 to 1987, he worked in the research and development department for Vereinigte Deutsche Metallwerke. Franz Hofmann holds a degree in material science and physical chemistry, as well as a doctorate from the University of Erlangen, Germany.



Karl Hornhofer

Karl Hornhofer joined the Andritz Executive Board on January 1, 2007.  He is responsible for the Capital Equipment segment of the Pulp and Paper Business Area, which comprises the Wood Processing, Fiberline, Recovery Systems, Chemical Systems, Pulp Drying Systems, Paper Machine, and the Paper Finishing Divisions.  After joining the Andritz Pulp Technology Division in 1996, he played a major role in building and successfully developing the sheet drying product group. At the beginning of 2005, he was appointed Head of the Pulp Drying Systems Division and in 2006 also took over responsibility for the Paper Machines Division. Karl Hornhofer is a graduate of Graz Technical University where he studied Pulp and Paper Technology.



Humbert Köfler

Humbert Köfler joined the Andritz Executive Board on April 1, 2007. He is responsible for the Service segment of the Pulp and Paper Business Area, which comprises the Pulp and Paper Engineered Service, the Mechanical Pulping Systems, and Fiber Preparation Systems Division. Humbert Köfler joined the Andritz Group in 1987, initially with Sprout Bauer in Vienna. From 2002 to 2005, he successfully managed the Mechanical Pulping Systems Division and developed it into one of the wold's leading suppliers of systems for the production of mechanical pulp for the pulp and paper industries, and of fiber production systems for MDF boards. In 2005, Humbert Köfler took over responsibility for the Paper Mill Services Division.  Humbert Köfler holds a degree in Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.


Friedrich Papst Friedrich Papst

Friedrich Papst has been a member of the Executive Board of Andritz since 1998 and is responsible for production, procurement and quality management as well as the Feed and Biofuel, and the Hydro Power Business Areas. He joined Andritz in 1979 and became a Director in 1986. He was previously responsible for manufacturing and logistics, and in 1990 acted as vice-president of operations for one year for the newly acquired US subsidiary Sprout-Bauer Inc. Pennsylvania (USA). Friedrich Papst holds a degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from Graz University of Technology, Austria.
