The contract of Kuthungal in Kerala State of India was awarded to VA TECH Escher Wyss Flovel Ltd (EWF) India in October, 1997 on Turnkey basis. The work included engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of three Horizontal Francis Turbines, Butterfly Valve, Synchronous generators, Hydraulic pressure unit, Governor, Electrical Control & Protection System, Power house crane, Cables, Transformers, Switchyard equipment, penstock protection valve and all other accessories including SCADA. The work also included supply, erection and commissioning of Hydro-mechanical equipment including Gates & Trash Racks.
The Engineering Company Engineering Consultants Inc from Chennai (India) acted as Project Consultants.
VA TECH Escher Wyss Flovel Ltd., (EWF) executed the complete Turnkey package (Water to Wire) allowing the customer to have only two partners one for civil works and one for the electro-mechanical equipment. All interfaces within the electromechanical supply are sorted out internally allowing our customer to save time & money.
