VA TECH HYDRO in France was awarded a contract for the replacement of the three turbines, generators and HPUs installed in this 90-year old power plant by Romande Energie. The new two-jet horizontal Pelton turbines, with an increased discharge of 16% and an output increased by 20%, will be installed in two phases over 2003 and 2004. The severe civil work constraints due to the existing air and water ducts as well as increased capacity, have required the hydraulic specialists to adapt the turbine casing and the bifurcation pipes.

Romande Energie is one of the largest energy producers and distributors in the French speaking part of Switzerland and a long term customer of the VA TECH HYDRO Group.
