New Compact Belt Drive Bulb turbines increase annual energy output from 0.8 to 5.3 GWh. ENERGIE AG has placed an order with VA TECH HYDRO for the supply and installation of two Compact Belt Drive Bulb turbines including synchronous generators and associated electrical equipment. An old powerhouse structure with Francis turbine (2 and 5 m3/s) installed at the beginning of the last century will be replaced by a new powerhouse (overflow arrangement) housing two Compact Belt Drive Bulb turbines (2*25 m3/s). The new site arrangement will also take into consideration an ecological flow of 3 m3/s over the old weir structure and a fish path.
