Multiple zone concept

The new Andritz Sprout CZD W/XW dryer with multiple drying zones, provides an energy efficient dryer by better utilization of the drying air quantity available through zoned re-heating of the air and allowing the optimum drying air temperature to be used relative to the products moisture content at particular stages during the drying process. In turn this reduces the risk of surface tension and consequent cracking in the products surface but also reduces loss of heat sensitive critical ingredients, vitamins, pigments etc.
Reversed air-flow through the product and uniform air distribution over the drying area ensures uniform drying of each pellet. By accurately controlling the moisture content and distribution of moisture in the product consistent product density is secured and optimum oil absorption properties when coating is achieved.
Through better utilisation of the drying air the exhaust air quantity is kept to a minimum reducing the impact on the environment (odour).
