The ANDRITZ HYDRO research activities aim at both tailormade solutions for our customers and innovative products and tools to meet the needs of the market.

The range of services covers the whole process of a project from pre-feasibility studies to field testing, and even is extending over the life time of a plant from monitoring to residual life analysis.

Our tools for design and optimisation of the turbines are Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and experiments on our test rigs (model tests).

We offer CFD based feasibility studies to our customers who need to quickly and efficiently judge the potential improvements through upgrading of existing plants.

Our test facilities in the lab or at site allow overall performance tests, optical measurements and measurements of mechanical stresses and vibrations.
