Rotopress

The Rotopress® conveys and compacts screenings from sewage or other industrial applications.
It can also be supplied as a simple compactor, without a conveying section.
Depending on the applications, the outlet dryness is between 30 to 40% DS.

The conveyor becomes a compactor device when the spiral is surrounded by a sieving basket. The screw does not extend the full length of the compactor.
The space which is thus created between the end of the screw and the outlet forms a compacting chamber within the sieving basket.
The length of the shaftless screw and the spring tension of the outlet clack-valve determine the pressure rating.
This piece of equipment is commonly used in an intermittent way. The density of the output is not affected by the intermittent starts and stops of the screw.

The Rotopress® standard feature :

  • drive shaft sealing system
  • wash-water pipe in the compactor U-trough section
  • a drainage zone with a sieve and a rotating brush
  • drainage and cleaning water are drained off into a common collecting pipe and then evacuated at one and the same opening, which is found at the lowest point of the unit

Features

  • The maximum possible length of such a compactor is about 10 meters.
  • The “pushing” drive unit and the screw-free end design make the Rotopress® a very reliable piece of equipment, with no risk of jamming at the inlet or the outlet
  • The sieving device is a “Johnson” type basket
  • The choice of mesh size depends on the type of material being compacted and varies between 0.25 and 1.5 mm
