In the year 1985 the Commission Federal de Electricidad (CFE) of Mexico ordered from VA TECH ESCHER WYSS two vertical 6 jet Pelton units with 120 MW output each for the project Agua Prieta.
The turbine runners have been manufactured at VA TECH ESCHER WYSS in Ravensburg, Germany and the remaining turbine components at VA TECH ESCHER WYSS Mexico, in Morelia.
The units have been successfully commissioned in the year 1989.
