This type of turbine utilizes the widest range of application as far as head and output is concerned; heads of 20 m up to 700 m and outputs up to 700 MW can be covered by Francis type turbines today.
The ANDRITZ HYDRO experience includes heads up to 750 m, runner diameters up to 8,000 mm and outputs up to 450 MW.
The total installed capacity is approx. 65,000 MW and more than 1,650 large units have been installed worlwide.
