An infrared radiation pyrometer allows a non-contact temperature measurement of the rotor pole temperatures by capturing the (thermal) infrared radiation emitted from the rotor poles. One infrared radiation pyrometer per unit is destined for permanent on-line measurement.
Problems to be detected:
- Overheating of single poles and
- Rotor winding
Required soft- and hardware:
- Infrared radiation pyrometer – response time for 50 (60) Hz units: < 10 (8) msec.
- IRD processing rack & fast A/D-conversion (6 kHz sampling)
- Computer with condition monitoring software
