Rotor Pole Temperature Monitoring (based on infrared measurement)

An infrared radiation pyrometer allows a non-contact temperature measurement of the rotor pole temperatures by capturing the (thermal) infrared radiation emitted from the rotor poles.
One infrared radiation pyrometer per unit is destined for permanent on-line measurement.

Problems to be detected:

• Overheating of single poles and
• Rotor winding

Required soft- and hardware:

• Infrared radiation pyrometer – response time for 50 (60) Hz units: < 10 (8) msec.
• IRD processing rack & fast A/D-conversion (6 kHz sampling)
• Computer with condition monitoring software
