Highly flexible lines to meet the needs for production of biaxially oriented film
A range of production alternatives
ANDRITZ Biax offers a range of production lines for biaxially stretched films – with two-step or simultaneous stretching. Our machinery spans the entire production process – from dosing and conveying to the winder, in line-production, as well as post-production processing.
For each process, polymers are mixed, extruded, applied onto a cast roll and mechanically stretched under the influence of heat. Stretching modifies the molecular structure and thickness of the film. This stretching can be produced using a two-step sequence (transverse and machine direction) or in a one-step (MESIM) simultaneous stretching process.
With appropriate design measures, producers can tailor their stretched film products based upon different resins and different layers to meet market demands. It is possible to produce different stretched film products on the same ANDRITZ Biax machinery, e.g.:
- BOPP lines that also produce synthetic paper
- BOPET lines that also produce OPET-G shrink films or BOPA films
- BOPS lines that also produce shrink films
