Automation solutions for chemical plants
Helping to achieve operational readiness
ANDRITZ assists chemical plants around the world to bridge the gap between concept and production to help them achieve operational readiness - quickly, safely, accurately, and ahead of the curve.
The control system in a modern plant touches every piece of equipment and instrument in the plant, much like a nervous system that touches every muscle and receptor in the body. Nothing will be conveyed, ground, classified, pumped, processed, or dried until the plant's "nervous system" is operationally ready. In short, the control system of the plant can mean the difference between profit and loss.
That's why ANDRITZ has an engineering group that focuses on the design of the electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. These disciplines typically account for a small portion of the total project budget - but their importance to operation of a plant is paramount.
We structure our scope of supply to fit commercial needs, from engineering to engineering and equipment supply, to engineering, procurement, and construction. Whatever the situation, ANDRITZ has the people, the patents, and the proven tools to ensure that a plant is operationally ready.
Our dynamic simulator, IDEAS, is the simulator of choice for several industries, including the pulp, mining, and oil sands industries, helping plants achieve start-ups that are faster, smoother, safer - and more economical. By using IDEAS, these facilities have realized hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings. ANDRITZ has specific solutions for working in the chemical industries, including the IDEAS OLI and IDEAS VMG engines.
Advanced process control
Our patented, PID-replacement controller BrainWave is revolutionizing control at industrial plants around the globe. We have helped producers large and small remove bottlenecks, reduce energy and chemical consumption, produce higher quality products more consistently, and cut production costs.
Once a process has been stabilized with BrainWave, our automated “expert operator” ACE can be implemented fully to optimize a process. The expert operator in ACE is always at full attention, never distracted, and achieves optimum conditions for the plant.
