Andritz receives complete pulp mill order from India

Through its Andritz Oy subsidiary in Finland and its Indian joint venture company Enmas Andritz Pte Ltd., the Andritz Group will deliver a new fiberline, recovery island, and woodroom upgrade to Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills (APPM) Rajahmundry mill in India. With this investment, APPM will increase pulping capacity from 300 to 550 bdt/d.  Start-up of the new line will be in spring 2006.

The new fiberline consists of a continuous cooking system (DownFlow Lo-Solids® Cooking), brownstock washing with DD Washers, two-stage oxygen delignification, deknotting/screening, and ECF bleaching with DD Washers.  The new fiberline incorporates the most modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly technologies in the Indian market.  The new state-of-the-art recovery island consists of a 7-effect evaporation plant, 1,300 tds/d recovery boiler, recausticizing plant with a CD-filter, and an LMD lime kiln.

Even though capacity of the mill will almost be doubled, effluents to receiving waters and air emissions will be significantly reduced with the new Andritz technology.  Both the fiberline and recovery island will be the biggest single-line systems in India.
