Tree-length (or longwood) processing has become the preferred woodyard technology in North America for new woodyards.
It provides greater operational efficiency, it dispenses with slashing operations, minimizes waste, and eliminates a throughput bottleneck.
Tree length processing also improves fiber quality, it eliminates shot ends and cut ends that produce poor quality chips and damaged fibers.

The patented Andritz PowerfeedTM conveyor has been designed for high throughput of tree length or short wood logs.
