The Växjö R&D facility is focused on research and developement in the fields of thermal drying and aerodynamics. The work conducted in the facility includes both basic research as well as developement of new technologies. Work is carried out in both bench scale and pilot/demonstration scale.
The major areas are developement of drying processes for pulp, paper and biomass, as well as heat recovery equipment for industrial applications. Drying characterization are carried out for sheet drying, pneumatic flash drying as well as bed and fluid bed drying. Aerodynamic optimisation of equipement is also carried out.
Important focuses are:
- capacity of equipment
- up-time of processes
- product quality
- environmental responsibility
Through this R&D center, Andritz will continue to respond rapidly to the changing conditions in its business environment. This enables us to meet customer requirements and continuously present new leading technologies.
