What are the advantages of an alkaline electrolyzer?
- Proven technology over decades
- No usage of precious metals - mainly steel and nickel
- Lower CAPEX costs for larger applications
ANDRITZ is currently on the market offering alkaline electrolysis solutions through partnering with leading technology providers. The solutions comprise EP and EPC offers from electricity and water purification to purified and compressed hydrogen and oxygen. Moreover, the water electrolysis can also be integrated into a larger ANDRITZ offering including carbon capture and production of e-methanol as well as with its hydropower projects.
An alkaline electrolyzer is a type of electrolytic cell that uses an alkaline solution, such as potassium hydroxide (KOH), as the electrolyte. The cell typically consists of two electrodes, the anode and the cathode, which are separated through a diaphragm or a membrane.
