Description

The Commercial Manager plays a key role in all commercial contractual aspects of major hydropower projects. Seeking candidates with a proven background in contract negotiation, risk management, project management and financial management. Must have superb foresight, be detail-oriented and have the ability to anticipate how decisions will affect the long term operation of the projects. Success requires a proactive nature, ability to work under pressure, be a team player, and competency to solve complex problems across multiple projects.

Job responsibilities include:

•Monitor and report on project financial performance and ensure relevant risks and opportunities are reflected in project estimates. Provide early warning on issues and concerns.
•Utilize analytic and quantitative decision analysis tools and techniques to infer/quantify/ estimate financial implications of risk and alternative reward and trade-off decisions.
•Coordinate project accounting and financial management functions including payables, receivables, project hedging, and operating forecasts monthly and annually through off-site Project Accounting.
•Quantify, value and support project manager to adjudicate claims/variation orders for additional costs received from subcontractors/suppliers/vendors.
•Develop and implement the overall procurement strategy for each project.
•Managing terms and conditions with clients, contractors and subcontractors.
•Overall contract management and primary liaison with legal staff to ensure issues and risks are mitigated.
•Monitor project progress, contract compliance, and ensure the effective operation of all financial approval and accounting processes.
• Manage bonding, letter of credit and insurance requirements for the project including close-out activities.
•Negotiates with customers on key contracts and where appropriate, resolves issues, identifies and communicates risks and ensures that appropriate risk management initiatives are implemented.

ANDRITZ HYDRO USA operates in a niche market that provides overhaul and rehabilitation to hydro power plants. The work encompasses a wide range of repair, replacement and improvement services to restore dependability and sustainability to hydro power facilities, or to increase capacity and/or efficiency. Projects range in size and scope, but routinely span from component assessment, design, and procurement to site installation and commissioning. Qualification

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, an exceptional communicator, willing to travel extensively, and will meet the following requirements:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Engineering or Construction Management.
•5+ years experience developing and managing large scale, highly complex projects with proven contract negotiations skills.
•Prior financial and business management experience with cost, cash flow, and schedule against as-sold bench marks.
•Understanding of risk mitigation and management tools and approaches.
•Experience with contract analysis, negotiations, claims and settlements at the prime and sub levels.
•Demonstrated leadership with ability to identify and source the resources required to complete workload
• Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Access, Word, Project).
•Experience in Government Contracting and/or Import and Logistics is desirable
