ANDRITZ METALS to supply an acid regeneration plant for Acciaieria Arvedi, ItalyInternational technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Acciaieria Arvedi, a manufacturer of carbon steel strip with headquarters in Cremona, northern Italy, to erect an acid regeneration plant. Start-up is scheduled for mid-2010.
The hydrochloric acid from the pickling line will be recycled by using fluidized bed technology. The resulting products, fresh hydrochloric acid and iron oxide pellets, will be re-used in various steps of the steel strip production process. The plant has a regeneration capacity of 10,000 l/h spent acid.
This contract extends the cooperation between ANDRITZ METALS and the Arvedi Group, which has recently installed several innovative systems (e.g. Neograv, 20-high mill stands, shears) for its stainless steel business area.
