IFAT 2008: The Andritz Group, the leading systems provider in sludge treatment and specialist for pumps in water managementAt this year’s IFAT, ANDRITZ Technology Group based in Graz, Austria, will present its leading technologies for mechanical and thermal sludge drying, and, as a first, also its comprehensive, innovative product portfolio for pumps and complete pumping stations.
The ANDRITZ Group’s Environment and Process Business Area counts among the most comprehensive technology and product suppliers for solid/liquid separation - from thickening to dewatering to drying and thermal reuse. With an installed base comprising over 10 000 centrifuges and filter presses and 120 sludge drying systems, ANDRITZ is a leader in equipment for sludge treatment.
The Business Area’s strategy is founded on the goal of further improving the product offer by continuous innovation and by ensuring closeness to customers in order to provide optimum follow-up on the plants supplied. At present, it operates 15 highly qualified service centres in all relevant markets.
Two important acquisitions were made over the past two years in order to extend the comprehensive service network. In 2006, Contec Decanter Inc., based in California, USA, was purchased and thus a further centrifuge and separator service centre on the American west coast was added to the already tight network of service organizations.
The latest purchase was the centrifuge business from Decanter Pty Ltd, Australia at the end of 2007. This move means that ANDRITZ can serve its customers on the Australian continent even better and more quickly.
The Pump Division of the Hydro Power Business Area develops and manufactures pumps for the most different applications. Decades of experience in hydraulic machinery construction and comprehensive process know-how form the basis of the high design standards applied to ANDRITZ pumps. ANDRITZ offers model testing, design and engineering, manufacture, project management, service and training - all from a single source.
ANDRITZ pumps are used for the following applications:
In water transport for
- Drinking water supply
- Industrial water supply
- Irrigation and drainage
In power supply
- As cooling water pumps
- As reactor pumps
- As pumps for flue gas desulphurization
Other applications are the pulp and paper industry and the chemical and food industry.
ANDRITZ at IFAT 2008:
Hall A2, Stand 127/230
All visitors to the ANDRITZ stand in Hall A2 will receive ample information on all mechanical and thermal sludge treatment processes such as screening, centrifugation, filtering, drying and incineration.
A special product highlight at the ANDRITZ stand in Hall A2 is bubbling fluid combustion, which is new on the Environment and Process Business Area’s programme. This concept uses biogenic fuels such as rejects, fibrous sludges and wood waste, reducing the need for primary energy in the drying process even further. ANDRITZ currently offers plant sizes of up to 20 MW, but it is interesting to note that ANDRITZ OY has used bubbling fluid combustion in boiler plants for up to 200t of steam production per hour.
Hall A5, Stand 223
All visitors to the ANDRITZ stand in Hall 223 will receive ample information on the ANDRITZ pump portfolio for power supply (drinking water supply, industrial water supply, irrigation and drainage. One presentation focus will be placed on the ANDRITZ commitment for water supply to Bejing, the venue of this year’s Olympic Games.
