First unit successfully in operation

The Srinagarind Dam is an embankment dam on the Khwae Yai River in Si Sawat District of Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand. The Owner is EGAT, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.

In the year 2015, ANDRITZ was awarded with rehabilitation of three Francis units. The contractual scope of supplies and services comprises the generator replacement, the turbine upgrade by a new runner, the replacement of the cooling water and mechanical auxiliary systems as well as the replacement of the electrical equipment, transformers, and SCADA System.

In January 2019, an important milestone has been achieved with the first unit completed by the international ANDRITZ Team from India and Austria together with the team of EGAT. The unit is in commercial operation since Febraury 6, 2019 and operating successfully in warranty period, providing green energy to the benefit of EGAT and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Unit #2 is planned to also start operation in 2019, the last unit will be completed in 2020 as per schedule.
