The ANDRITZ Gouda mill sifter produces a consistent narrow particle size distribution (D50). Reducing particle size
Most products produced on drum dryers leave the dryer in the form of a closed product film and are then broken to a degree which enables good handling during transport. The product is introduced in the down-stream installed mill sifter in the form of flakes of various sizes, generally in average not bigger than 2 x 2 centimeter. In the mill sifter the flakes are reduced in size by fast rotating beater-bars through a sieve screen. Impurities and oversized hard particles are sifted and separated from the main product stream being milled, and discharged from the milling compartment via a grit outlet.

The selection of the type of sieve screen is depending on the composition and characteristics of the product, while by the selection of the sieve perforation the bulk density and particle size is realized. The particle size distribution and bulk density can be slightly influenced by the speed of the beater system in combination with the type of sieve screens selected.
Different sieve types with a wide range of sieve perforations are available for achieving the result aimed for. In relation to the minimum sieve perforation, the minimum fineness will be from around 500 microns upwards.

All product contact parts are stainless steel The bearings of the beater system are well separated from the milling compartment. Sieve screens are easy exchangeable and fixed in position with a tool free clamping system.
