Video surveillance with 250 SCALA

Video surveillance offers visual contact to all areas and automatically triggers alarms in the event of unauthorized access.

Video surveillance with 250 SCALA

Video surveillance of distributed processes and plant areas or critical parts of the equipment (e.g. dam, unmanned operation locations) is one of its major tasks.

The SCADA system

The video surveillance solution is based on 250 SCALA, the scalable SCADA system. The powerful SCADA functionality of 250 SCALA, especially triggering and displaying alarms, is an optimal basis for video surveillance installations. A specially developed software module displays video streams on  SCADA clients and controls the PTZ cameras (pan-tilt-zoom). Each software module handles one specific video stream for the SCADA clients. The module is part of the 250 SCALA editor and offers the various interactive functions in runtime mode.

Network video server

Network video servers are responsible for correct video signal transmission. All servers are fitted with inputs for the camera signal and TCP/IP network interfaces. A serial interface is used to operate the pan, tilt, and zoom functions of the camera. Video servers convert the analogue PAL signals (FBAS-75Ohm) of the camera to digital signals and transmit them to the connected network as TCP/IP packages - independently of the transport technology of the IP network.
