Vacuum contact drying

Due to its heatable vessel and mixer, the helix dryer is a high-performance vacuum contact dryer at low temperatures. Combining central product discharge and optimized screw design, it guarantees almost residue-free emptying.

Krauss-Maffei Helix dryer, type HD

The HD series uses a central, top-driven helical mixer in a conical vessel, enabling smooth and efficient mixing of the dry material. Even sticky products can be processed thanks to the special design of the mixing screw.

Krauss-Maffei Helix dryer, type BD

The BD series uses a central, top-driven helical mixer in a conical vessel with a spherical lower section, enabling smooth and efficient mixing of pasty or free-flowing materials. Even sticky products can be processed thanks to the special design of the mixing screw combined with an anchor in the lower section.

Additional equipment

Additional equipment for both types is available with interchangeable components, such as stationary drive module, vacuum system, heating/cooling system, and CIP skid. Mobile components for simultaneous unit operations minimize product handling when drying multiple batches.
