In 2018, ANDRITZ HYDRO China received an order for Suki Kinari hydropower plant, located in Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. This project is part of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor's Road and Belt program. The EPC contract was signed between CGGC (China Gezhouba Group) and SK Hydro in 2013. ANDRITZ HYDRO China has signed it with HEC (Harbin Electric Machinery Company) – subcontractor to CGGC, for the supply of four 225 MW Pelton turbines.These turbine represent the largest Pelton turbines in Pakistan. Commissioning and start of commercial operation is scheduled for 2021. 

The negotiations for Suki Kinari Project had took several years. The contract was finally signed in November 2018, and commenced in March 2019. As the project faces greater challenges, Vevey Lab (Switzerland), the most competent lab in Pelton units, accepted research and development tasks.

Finally, Vevey Lab concluted the model acceptance test of the Suki Kinari Project on August 25, 2019. On the very day, 20 globally leading turbine experts from five parties (China Gezhouba (Group) Corporation, Mott MacDonald (Singapore), the Yellow River Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, China Water Resources Beifang Investigation, Design, Research Co., Ltd., and Harbin Electric Machinery Company Limited) witnessed the model acceptance test.

After uninterrupted tests for nearly 150 hours—six days and nights, all the tested items, including efficiency, vibration, speed, air admission as well as the geometric size, met the Contract requirements. The Client and the Consultant were satisfied with the results of Suki Kinari turbine model tests and consequently approved it.
