ANDRITZ and A.Celli Nonwovens join forces to offer automated reel loading solutions for personal care converting
Both nonwovens specialist have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly offer advanced automation solutions for personal care converting lines.
By combining their complementary expertise, the two companies provide customers with a fully integrated solution to automate reel handling from warehouse to converting line, including full digital traceability and enhanced operational safety
As part of this cooperation, ANDRITZ and A.Celli will jointly upgrade and commercialize ReelMAX 360, an A.Celli technology designed to significantly increase the level of automation in personal care converting lines producing absorbent hygiene products for baby, feminine, and adult care. On the ANDRITZ side, ANDRITZ Diatec (Collecorvino, Italy) acts as the technology and implementation partner in close collaboration with A.Celli.
The partnership brings together two complementary centers of excellence to address one of the most persistent challenges in hygiene manufacturing: the supply of raw materials from the warehouse to the production line. In many plants worldwide, this process still relies heavily on manual labor or only partially automated systems. Through their joint approach, ANDRITZ and A.Celli enable customers to move toward a fully automated, safer, and more transparent material flow.
Francesco Vergentini, General Manager of A.Celli states:"This partnership with ANDRITZ marks an important milestone in our vision for the future of hygiene product processing. Together, we are offering our customers an integrated and scalable automation solution that addresses one of the most critical phases of the converting process.”
ReelMAX 360 is available in two configurations: Standard and Pro. Both versions automate reel setup, handling, and loading on converting lines. The Standard configuration maintains manual steps from truck unloading to bundle transfer, while the Pro version fully automates the entire reel flow through an integrated warehouse system. Both configurations enable direct reel loading onto the unwinder shaft and introduce a fully automatic splicing technology that eliminates today’s manual operations. A key feature of both configurations is the deep integration of hardware and software to enable full digital traceability and real-time picking logic from warehouse to unwinding shaft, supported by a purpose-built Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) designed specifically for the requirements of hygiene converting environments.
Ettore Paolini, General Manager ANDRITZ Diatec says: “By joining forces with A.Celli, we are not simply automating individual tasks. Together, we are rethinking the complete material flow from warehouse to line, offering our shared customer base a new way to improve safety, productivity, and process transparency”
With this partnership, ANDRITZ and A.Celli jointly empower personal care manufacturers to achieve safer operations, higher productivity, and full compliance – transforming labor and transparency challenges into tangible customer value through an integrated automation offering.
