Dedert supplies largest roto-flash dryer in company history for silica application
In a milestone project that highlights Dedert’s innovative engineering and customer-focused approach, the company has successfully delivered the largest Roto-Flash dryer ever built in its history. This custom-designed system was developed for a demanding silica application used in toothpaste, one of the most challenging drying tasks in the industry. Other applications include tires, animal feed, pigments and coatings, and filtration.
Tailoring technology to customer needs
The design was significantly adapted to meet the unique technical and food-grade requirements of the customer. Drying silica for oral care applications presents several challenges: the product is not free-flowing, highly abrasive, and requires extremely high temperatures, up to 750°C, for efficient moisture removal. Additionally, the entire system had to comply with design standards to ensure safety for human consumption.
Dedert responded with a fully customized Roto-Flash solution featuring a special feed system, abrasion-resistant components, and a sanitary-grade design, setting a new benchmark for size and performance.
Why the customer chose Dedert?
The customer specifically sought out Dedert based on the team’s deep expertise in advanced drying solutions. Dedert's global experts had a proven track record in high-stakes applications, having previously delivered specialized systems for challenging materials such as toothpaste-grade silica. Dedert’s long-standing experience and innovation in rapid drying technologies further reinforced the customer’s confidence.
The result is a high-performance, cost-effective solution delivered with unmatched technical credibility.
This project not only marks a new record in size for Dedert but also tells a compelling story of innovation, trust, and customer partnership. Stay tuned for more as we continue to push the boundaries of drying technology.
