With increasing global demand for fuel-efficient and electric vehicles, AHSS has become a critical material for automotive manufacturers because it combines reduced weight with high strength, enabling lighter, safer vehicle designs. The new galvanizing line will enable JSW Steel to meet these evolving market requirements and expand its portfolio of value-added steel products.

With an annual production capacity of approximately 500,000 tons, the line will process steel strip up to 1,900 mm wide and 2.60 mm thick, including advanced high-strength steel grades with tensile strengths of up to 1,480 MPa. The line is designed for process speeds of up to 180 m/min. The start-up is scheduled for 2028.
ANDRITZ’s scope comprises the engineering, manufacture, and supply of the complete line, including terminal equipment, chemical cleaning section, furnace, coating pot and after-pot cooling as well as skin pass mill, tension leveling line, and a post treatment section. Designed to meet stringent automotive quality standards, the line will provide superior surface quality, precise coating control, and consistent metallurgical properties.
The order is included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the second quarter of 2026. The value will not be disclosed.
