ANDRITZ neXecodisc: Optimized nonwoven filter system

In the ever-evolving landscape of Wetlace™ nonwoven production, ANDRITZ continues to push the boundaries of efficiency and sustainability

One of its standout innovations is the neXecodisc system, designed to optimize the filtering processes in Wetlace™ nonwoven production lines.

What is ANDRITZ neXecodisc?

Our water filtration service experts offer comprehensive rebuild solutions to upgrade your filtration line by replacing traditional KLC with innovative and maintenance-efficient disc filters. Our advanced though easy going neXecodisc ensures enhanced performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, making it the ideal choice for modernizing your wetlaid line for the production of wipes.

Key Advantages

  • Space efficiency: Compared to traditional sand float filtration units, neXecodisc occupies a much smaller footprint, enabling more flexible plant layouts and easier integration into existing lines.
  • Energy optimization: The disc design promotes very low energy consumption thanks to a gravity filtration process, and low water consumption with an efficient cleaning system.
  • Modular design: The system can be scaled and customized to meet specific production line water flow rate and specially dedicated to the filtration of pulp fiber.

Benefits of ANDRITZ neXecodisc.

  • Low water consumption compared with a conventional KLC equipment
  • Filter grade tailored to the filtration needs
  • Sand filter overload protection
  • Gravity filtration, very low energy consumption < 1 kWh/ 100m3
  • Reliable and simple equipment, plug and play
  • Easy maintenance : filters set up and insertion is easy going
  • Sustainable system : No disposable media to litter

How does the ANDRITZ neXecodisc work?

The water to be filtered enters the rotating drum and flows by gravity into the filter discs. Suspended solids are retained inside the discs, while the filtered water is collected in a level tank surrounding the discs. When the water level reaches a predefined point, the filter rotor starts rotating, and the backwash system cleans the discs using the already filtered water.

  • Dirty water (A) goes inside filtering discs equipped with a fine polyester screen.
  • When dirty water level is 20cm higher than the clean water level (B), it is clogged.
  • The cleaning is done by rotation of the disc, (C)  from outside to the center.
  • Cleaning nozzles uses the internal clean water with 6 bar pressure.
  • Water from the cleaning is discharged (D).
  • The recovery of the filter is done online, filtration is always running.
  • The selected filtration grade is 20µm.
