The program:
Around 7,000 tons of paper machine clothing are discarded across Europe every year, with most of it being incinerated. Our program changes that. Used fabrics and felts from ANDRITZ and other suppliers are collected directly at your mill and mechanically recycled into high quality recyclate.
Logistics are coordinated by our partner HolyPoly, in full regulatory compliance and fully documented.

01 Collect
Used clothing is collected at your mill, regardless of supplier.
02 Pick up & sort
HolyPoly collects and sorts felts (PA) and fabrics (PA/PET).
03 Recycle
Mechanical recycling into high quality granulate, fully documented.
04 New life
Recyclate replaces virgin plastic in molded parts and, in the future, in new clothing.
With this initiative, we are moving the utilization of used paper machine clothing higher up the waste hierarchy, from energy recovery to material recycling.
UPM recycles clothing across multiple mill
Since the industrial launch in January 2025, several UPM mills in Finland and Germany have been recycling their paper machine clothing through the program. Demand for the recyclate is high and the process is fully scalable.
