Nisha Joy
Assistant General Manager – Finance, ANDRITZ Hydropower India
After spending nearly 18 years in the banking sector, I reached a point where I felt it was time for something new. Almost three years ago, I took that leap and joined ANDRITZ Hydropower, marking the beginning of an entirely new chapter in my career.
From my very first day, I felt truly welcomed. The atmosphere was filled with energy and purpose, and I was immediately drawn in. The work was unlike anything I had experienced before – dynamic, demanding, always deeply rewarding. What impressed me most was the way leadership is practiced here; it is authentic and truly centered around people.
The most remarkable aspect of ANDRITZ Hydropower is its culture.
“There is a genuine sense of openness, trust, and respect that shapes the way people work together every day.“
Everyone’s voice is valued, and communication flows naturally across all levels. This atmosphere of true collaboration has made my experience not only professionally exciting but also deeply fulfilling on a personal level.
I’ve had the privilege of working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and across multiple countries. This international collaboration has broadened my perspective and strengthened my ability to navigate complex, cross-functional environments. I’ve learned to take full ownership of my responsibilities, lead initiatives when needed, and offer support wherever it’s required. Each phase of this journey has pushed me to refine my skills and embrace continuous learning.
On a personal level, the combination of challenging work and a supportive environment has made me more resilient. It has helped me focus on what truly matters, maintain balance, and adopt a mindset centered on growth and self-improvement.
Looking back, leaving the banking world for ANDRITZ Hydropower was one of the boldest and best decisions of my life. Today, I know that change isn’t something to fear; it can be the beginning of something truly remarkable.
