Nanning Sun Paper again selects ANDRITZ as supplier for pulp and paper mill project

2026/08/26

Nanning Sun Paper Co., Ltd. has awarded international technology group ANDRITZ repeat orders to supply main process technology and key equipment for its third pulp mill line, as well as equipment for the new paper machine PM21, in Nanning, Guangxi Province, China.

 Start-up is scheduled for mid-2027.

The orders have a total value in the mid double-digit million-euro range. They are included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the second quarter of 2026.

Ying Guangdong, Vice General Manager and Chief Engineer of Sun Paper, said: “These orders reflect our strong confidence in ANDRITZ and the successful cooperation we have experienced in our previous projects in Nanning. We trust ANDRITZ’s proven technology and project execution capabilities to support efficient, reliable, and sustainable production. We look forward to continuing our long-term partnership.”

The ANDRITZ scope of supply includes:

  • Three ANDRITZ 360° Stacker Reclaimers and four gyratory chip screens for efficient chip storage and screening, ensuring a homogeneous and continuous chip supply.
  • A high-kappa fiberline with a capacity of 1,500 adt/d for softwood and 2,200 adt/d for hardwood. The line features advanced chip feeding, continuous cooking, refining, screening, and washing technologies utilizing the multi-stage DD-Washer drum displacer washer, the COMPACT PRESS wash press, and the GF-Filter advanced vacuum drum filter washer. These technologies provide high operational availability and efficient washing, helping to reduce freshwater, chemical, and energy consumption.
  • A new recovery boiler with a black liquor firing capacity of 2,500 tds/d and steam parameters of 105 bar(g) and 515 °C to maximize green electricity production. The recovery boiler features low flue gas emissions and includes advanced process controls for optimized operation.
  • A white liquor plant with an integrated gasification system, including an ANDRITZ circulating fluidized bed (CFB) gasifier, enabling fossil-free lime kiln operation and an optimized carbon footprint, together with advanced recausticizing and lime kiln technologies for high energy efficiency and reliable operation.
  • Advanced refining and screening technologies, together with complete approach flow and broke handling systems. The integrated solution improves stock quality and cleanliness, supports efficient fiber utilization and recovery, and ensures stable process conditions to produce high-quality packaging paper grades.

Sun Paper Group established Nanning Sun Paper Co., Ltd. in 2022 to develop an integrated forest, pulp, and paper industrial park with a planned annual production capacity of 5.25 million tons.
