ANDRITZ SYNERGY™ agreements: turning lifecycle service into measurable performance improvement

Nonwoven and textile producers are facing a clear challenge. And ANDRITZ SYNERGY™ service agreements are a key to the solution

Nonwoven and textile producers need to improve uptime, secure consistent quality, reduce waste, and optimize energy consumption while making the best possible use of existing production assets. In many cases, the priority is not a major new investment, but a structured way to unlock more performance from the equipment already in operation.

Improvement is a measureable activity

ANDRITZ SYNERGY™ agreements are specifically designed to support this ambition. They combine service know-how, process expertise, digital solutions, remote support, reliability services, and recovery support in one tailored lifecycle framework. The objective is simple: help customers keep their lines available, efficient, and competitive over time without engaging high level investment.

Rather than approaching service as a reactive response only, ANDRITZ SYNERGY™ creates a long-term performance partnership. It connects the customer’s operational targets with ANDRITZ experts in mechanics, automation, process technology, spare parts, training, and digitalization. Each audit, remote session, expert visit, and follow-up meeting becomes part of a continuous improvement process focused on measurable customer value.

“With ANDRITZ SYNERGY™ agreements, we move from service support to performance support with a lifecycle approach,” says Nicolas Schaeffer, Global Director Service Sales, ANDRITZ Nonwoven & Textile. “The goal is to help customers protect their production, anticipate operational issues, and identify optimization potential in their installed base.”

A service agreement built around the lifecycle of a production line

As nonwoven production lines evolve over time, changing raw materials, product specifications, teams, market expectations, and sustainability targets create new opportunities to improve availability, quality, waste reduction, energy efficiency, maintenance planning, and troubleshooting.

ANRITZ SYNERGY™ service agreements address these needs through a structured lifecycle framework built on four complementary pillars: remote assistance, reliability services, recovery services, and optimization and digitalization. By bringing these services into one tailored agreement, customers can simplify support planning, optimize maintenance budgets, access ANDRITZ process expertise, and define a clear roadmap for continuous improvement.

“Customers need reliable production today and a clear path for tomorrow,” says Ilyes Limem, Global Director Service, ANDRITZ Nonwoven & Textile. “ANDRITZ SYNERGY™ provides a practical framework to stabilize performance, structure improvements, and build long-term value from their assets.”

Process expertise at the center of customer value

The core strength of ANDRITZ SYNERGY™ is the combination of service capabilities with ANDRITZ process expertise. Depending on the selected agreement level, ANDRITZ experts can perform on-site process audits, review operating conditions, define improvement actions, and support implementation through regular online follow-ups in order to help align priorities, review progress, and keep the optimization roadmap connected to the customer’s production and business targets.

For example, an expert visit on a spunlace or wetlaid line may identify opportunities to improve web quality, optimize dewatering, reduce raw material losses, or enhance dryer efficiency. On a needlepunch line, the focus may be web profile consistency, productivity enhancement, or even crosslapper performance for instance. In other cases, the priority may be reliability: automation updates, spare parts strategy, preventive maintenance routines, or operator coaching.

Digitalization that supports operational decisions

Digitalization plays an important role in our approach, but always with a practical purpose. It is not positioned as a standalone feature, but as an enabler for better decisions, faster support, and more targeted optimization actions.

As part of the ANDRITZ Metris portfolio, digital tools can support process analytics, asset optimization, remote assistance, training, cybersecurity, and plant management. For customers, this means that line data and expert knowledge can be combined to identify trends, prepare interventions, monitor performance, and support more stable operation. Digitalization therefore becomes a key element for availability, quality, resource efficiency, and user-friendly operation.

“Data creates value when it is connected to the reality of the production line,” says Ilyes Limem. “Our role is to combine digital insights with process experience and translate them into actions that improve the customer’s operation.”

Performance gains without heavy capital investment

A key advantage of ANDRITZ SYNERGY™ is its ability to support step-by-step performance improvement without immediately requiring heavy capital expenditure. Many gains can be achieved through systematic audits, process tuning, software and firmware updates, maintenance improvements, operator training, spare parts planning, and tailored upgrades.

  • Enhancing uptime through preventive maintenance audits and better planning of shutdown activities
  • Shortening response time through remote support and access to specialized ANDRITZ experts
  • Improving web quality and productivity through process audits or upgrades with technologies such as ProWin™ for web profile optimization for example
  • Lowering energy consumption through solutions such as neXecodry of spunlace lines, heat recovery systems, or optimized dryer operation for example
  • Reducing waste by improving process stability, raw material usage, and product consistency

Extending line capability by evaluating targeted retrofits, controls modernization, or Metris integration rather than full line replacement
