Smart ScanChip Analyzer – chip analyzer and sampler

The Smart ScanChip Analyzer uses image analysis technology to monitor chip quality quickly and accurately.

The ScanChip Analyzer is beneficial for obtaining accurate and frequent chip quality data so that the pulping process can be adjusted to match chip quality. Therefore, chipper knife changes can be optimized, and chip quality can be defined by testing or mill standards.   

The analyzer is designed to be used either online integrated with the pulp mill’s control system or offline as a laboratory instrument. It can also be equipped with an automatic chip sampling device to take regular, representative samples from the chip flow. Thus, the Smart ScanChip Analyzer provides a safe online chip quality measurement system, replacing labor-intensive chip sampling and laboratory tests. 

Adjust the pulping process to match the chip quality 

The analyzer defines chip quality regarding chip dimensions (length, width, thickness), chip moisture and chip brightness The analyzer can be installed in various positions, for example after the chipper or before the pulping process. The measurement data on each sample is stored in the internal database and can easily be exported to a mill’s DCS or other systems. A report is generated for each analyzed chip sample. Custom reports can be created easily to meet the mill’s information requirements.
