ANDRITZ’s climate targets are validated by SBTi

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has officially validated ANDRITZ´s near-term climate targets. The SBTi validation confirms that the company’s decarbonization path aligns with the goals of the Paris Agreement. ANDRITZ commits to:

  • Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year. This includes emissions generated directly by the company as well as emissions from electricity and heat sourced from suppliers.
  • Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 25% within the same timeframe, covering the wider value chain. These emissions include, among others, the energy consumed during the lifetime operation of machinery and systems delivered by ANDRITZ, outlining a considerable part of the company’s total emissions.

These targets reflect our commitment to meaningful climate action and transparent progress.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global partnership that helps companies set emissions reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement. It is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), and WWF.

We support UN Global Compact

UN Global Compact

ANDRITZ is a participant in the UN Global Compact Initiative and is guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in integrating sustainability consideration in our operations. We use the Ten Principles of UN Global Compact and the universal SDG framework to help us move forward on our sustainability journey across all the ESG pillars (Environment, Social, Governance).

The UN Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, was established to help businesses align their strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. The Ten Principles guide companies towards responsible and sustainable practices, ensuring that their operations have a positive impact on both society and the environment.

Certifications

Certifications

ISO certifications have become an essential part of doing business. Requiring clear processes and continuous improvement, they ensure the reliability of our products and services. External verifications confirm their consistent and effective implementation. We hold a multi-site certification for ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 45001 (safety), which forms the basis for the certificates of all integrated sites. In this way, we are seeking to contribute towards practical implementation of our #1ANDRITZ core behavior principles and strengthen the exchange of information via management systems.

In total, we hold a portfolio of more than 37 different certifications. In addition to Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Management Standards, individual locations have for example an ISO 50001 (energy), ISO 55001 (asset management) and ISO 27001 (information security) certification. The group-wide Compliance Management System is certified according to ISO 37301 and the Anti-Corruption Management System according to ISO 37001. Certifications for a wide variety of technical standards (e.g. ISO, IEC and ASME) demonstrate our leadership in technology.
