ANDRITZ film and size presses apply sizing solution or coating color simultaneously to both surfaces of a paper or board web. PrimeFilm is a film press for simultaneous, double-sided sizing, pigmenting, or coating of paper and board. Different coating weights can be applied to each side. The coating color or sizing solution is metered onto the roll surfaces by means of metering rods and transferred to the paper or board web in the roll nip.

The film press can also be used for single-sided application. The PrimeFilm has a compact design, enabling easy integration into the existing paper or board machines. In addition, it is easily accessible to allow rapid changes in the coating weight.

The PrimeSizer is a device for simultaneous application of sizing solution directly to both sides of a paper or board web. The sizing solution is applied as a pond before the roll nip and then transferred to the paper or board. The PrimeFilm Sizer combines both application methods in one unit for the widest possible range of coating weights.
