ANDRITZ to modernize cold strip processing line #3 for Acerinox Europe, Spain


International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Acerinox Europe, S.A.U. for renewal of cold strip line #3 at the Palmones plant. The scope of supply and services includes engineering and delivery of a new chemical processing section, major modifications to the mechanical equipment (e.g. welding machine), new rotary roller stands for the furnace, as well as the electrical equipment, dismantling of existing parts of the plant, and commissioning of the upgraded line.

The modernization work is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2018.

With modernization of line #3, Acerinox’s target is to reach the quality level of its new cold strip processing line #5, which was also supplied by ANDRITZ and is currently in the commissioning phase.

This order once again confirms the extensive and successful business relationship between ANDRITZ and the Acerinox Group.
