Wetlaid Green Tech: ANDRITZ technology for the green transition

Manufacturing of porous transport and gas diffusion layer

Benefit from our extensive process expertise and years of experience in projects for the nonwovens industries. Obtain comprehensive technology solutions from a single source for every challenge. You can use ANDRITZ wetlaid technology to produce porous transport layer (PTL) and gas diffusion layer (GDL), made of carbon and metal fibers for polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM-EL) and fuel cell (FC) manufacturing.

Mastering state-of-the-art production

ANDRITZ, as a global leader, offers solutions for various markets. Such as for the challenging market for wetlaid nonwovens. Wetlaid production requires a special focus on high efficiency. For technically sophisticated and durable products, the focus is on continuous high quality. To meet these requirements, ANDRITZ has developed a new inclined wire machine to scale up technical products at the industrial level.

Solutions for advanced fiber processing

Our know-how, formed through years of supplying sophisticated innovations for various wetlaid applications, enables us to deliver solutions to products, e.g., Porous Transport Layers and Gas Diffusion Layers. We deliver solutions for the handling of challenging fibers, special requirements such as high conductivity or extreme fineness, usage of a variety of binder systems, extensive process monitoring & evaluation, and a range of scalability options that can be used under laboratory conditions, but also in commercial production.

The main applications, we serve

The products, created with our machines and technologies are fuel cells and hydrogen applications.
Mainly processed are metallic fibers, carbon fibers, like carbon, stainless steel and nickel fibers, but also those, with similar properties, like glass fibers.

In case, you want to use other fibers, or look for other applications, get in contact with us and we will have a closer view on your plans.
