ANDRITZ neXline spunlace for bio wipes

neXline spunlace engineered for bio based wipe production: The proven path to sustainable wipe production

The neXline spunlace technology engineered for bio-based wipes from ANDRITZ supports the global shift toward environmentally responsible wipe production. The line enables manufacturers to process 100% natural and/or recycled fibers instead of conventional polypropylene or polyester, thereby reducing environmental impact and supporting decarbonization efforts. This aligns with ANDRITZ’s commitment to helping customers achieve their sustainability targets and contributing to a circular economy.

Premium roll goods from a proven technology

The neXline spunlace line is designed to deliver stable, high‑quality production for premium nonwoven roll goods made from bio‑based and/or recycled fibers.

ANDRITZ brings decades of nonwoven expertise to every spunlace line configuration, ensuring that all components – from opening and blending, carding, hydroentanglement, to drying – work in harmony to produce soft, strong, chemical‑free spunlace fabrics optimized for baby wipes, cosmetic wipes, household wipes, and medical applications.

Upgrade your spunlace line and unlock new levels of flexibility

Modern wipe producers face rising demand for sustainable, high‑performance, and diversified products. With ANDRITZ upgrade solutions, you can enhance the capabilities of your existing spunlace line while keeping downtime and space requirements to a minimum. Our solutions empower you to expand your portfolio into bio‑wipes, premium composites, and higher‑strength materials — all without compromising productivity.

ANDRITZ recommends two smart upgrade paths to extend your production possibilities

1. Add a compact airlaid forming unit

With our newly developed, compact airlaid forming head, you can transform your configuration into a carded‑airlaid‑carded (CAC) line — without building modifications and with a very short downtime only.
This forming unit is specifically engineered to integrate smoothly into both direct and crosslapped spunlace lines. It offers a compact footprint, smooth and fast upgrade process. The additional airlaid layer opens up new possibilities in production and thanks to the fiber sncapsulation low linting of the fibers. This makes it ideal for the converting process.

2. Add an unwinder

If your priority is enhanced material strength and improved layering capabilities, you can upgrade your line by integrating an unwinder for adding e.g. a tissue layer or similar substrates.
This boost tensile strength and allows the creation of multi‑layer composite wipes while keeping your existing spunlace process intact.

Our ANDRITZ specialists are ready to discuss your current set-up, evaluate your goals, and help you choose the best upgrade concept for long-term success. Whether your focus is sustainability, performance, or new market entry, we’ll ensure your line is ready for the future.
