Stora Enso Maxau, Germany – Hybrid design CFB boiler

Stora Enso’s Maxau mill, on the Rhein River near Karlsruhe in southwest Germany, produces SCA and SCB publication papers.

The two machines, with design capacity of 540,000 t/a, and the groundwood mill are the highest energy consumers in Maxau’s process. ANDRITZ supplied a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler - system PowerFluid - and FGC (dry) for production of electrical power and process steam for paper mill Maxau GmbH, Germany. Treatment of fuels with limited chlorine content - Hybrid design. Start-up in 2010.
